This section provides you with instructions for managing your activities on the DIYManager site
Click on the ‘Register’ button under the Log-in boxes (top left of the screen)
Click on the ‘Sign Up’ category
Enter you personal details into the online form, this includes:
Enter your log in details into the ‘Username’ and ‘Password’ text input boxes (top left of the screen)
If you have forgotten your username and/or password click on the ‘Forgotten your password’ link under the ‘Sign In’ and ‘Register’ buttons. We will send your details to the email address you registered with us
Use the Toolbox functionality for the following activities:
Account Information
Classifieds
Jobs
Feedback
The listings of companies on our Products and Services pages are provided by Thomson Local.
You need to register as an individual before you can register your company.
Once you are registered as an individual, you can register your company by filling in the online form (access via the ‘Listing your Co.’ link on the left hand menu).
We will pass your details to Thomson Local to appear on the Thomson Local and DIYManager sites.

Activating an ad
Once you have entered in the details for your ad press ‘Review Ad’, you will then see a preview of your ad before you have a chance to submit. If you wish to change the ad before you submit press ‘Edit Ad’. If you’re content with the information you have provided press ‘Submit’. The ad will not be visible to those searching on the site.
Editing an ad
Once the ad is submitted you have the ability to edit your ad.
Click on ‘My Toolbox’ on the left-hand menu. Once you’re in the toolbox select ‘Classifieds’ then ‘Manage Your Classifieds’ or ‘Jobs’ then ‘Manage Your Jobs’. Select the ad you wish to edit then make the necessary changes before pressing ‘Review Ad’. If you’re content with the information you have provided press ‘Submit’. The ad will not be visible to those searching on the site.
In-activating an ad
If you wish to temporarily remove your ad from the view of users but not delete the ad uncheck the ‘Active’ tickbox once you have selected the ad you wish to make inactive. You can find you ad by my selecting ‘My Toolbox’ from the left-hand menu, then ‘Manage Your Classifieds’ or ‘Manage Your Jobs’
Deleting an ad
If you wish to delete your advertisement click on ‘My Toolbox’, see the left-hand menu. Once you’re in the toolbox select ‘Classifieds’ then ‘Manage Your Classifieds’ or ‘Jobs’ then ‘Manage Your Jobs’. Select the ad you wish to delete. At the top of the page select ‘Click here’ when instructed ‘If you want to delete the entire advert…’
Receiving Responses to my ad
If someone wishes to contact you regarding your classified or job posting they can contact you with the phone number you provided or use the contact via email form. Both of these are visible when the person clicks ‘Contact Seller’. If email is the preferred contact method you will be sent an email enquiry with questions from the potential buyer.

Our Products and Services pages enable you to search for DIY related companies. There is a listing of categories on each page that you can click to help define your search, e.g. Architects. If you select one of these categories you will receive a listing of all architects in the UK so you need to use the search boxes at the top of the page to refine your search.
Enter in ‘Architect’ into the ‘Search For’ textbox then the postcode/suburb/town into the ‘Location’ textbox you are wishing to find architects in.
The refined search will return a listing of companies starting with those in your immediate area and list based on distance to your ‘Location’ request
If you are logged in the links to the category lists will default to your registered location. If you are logged in and looking for companies in another area use the refined search text boxes explained above.
To leave feedback for a company you can enter in the company name into the 'Be a Star, Leave Feedback' box (bottom left of your screen) or you can access ‘Leave Feedback’ from ‘Your Toolbox’. Note: You need to be logged in to the DIYManager site in order to leave feedback for companies.
Once you have selected the company you wish to leave feedback for you will be asked for the following information:
Work Undertaken – Enter a short description of the work undertaken or the product you purchased
Date Completed – the date the company finished the work for you or the date you made a purchase from them
Then select a rating from 1 to 10 (1 for very poor and 10 for very good) for the following areas:
Finally you can add further comments about the service or product you received.
