A list of associations and organisations in the construction industry and the related logos which many building companies promote



Federation of Master Builders (FMB)

The FMB is a trade association established over 60 years ago to protect the interests of small and medium-sized building firms – today it is the largest trade association in the UK building industry.  Member contractors must have been in business for a minimum of 12 months, have references from satisfied customers and be vetted by local branch members.



The Guild of Master Tradesmen

The guild is a trade association for a number of industries. Members are required to prove that they have earned the right to be called master craftsmen - through the quality of their work, their commitment to customer care and the level of service they provide. Once accepted into membership they are required to maintain the Aims and Objectives of the Guild. Should they fail to do so their membership will be terminated.


The League of Professional Tradesmen

The league is a trade association promoting businesses with a high level of skill and expertise.

Council for Registered Gas Installers (CORGI)

The CORGI brand is known by 8 out of 10 people in the UK, and historically has stood for safety, expertise and trust. Born out of the Gas Board as a membership of leading gas installers, CORGI went on to run the mandatory gas scheme for government for many years.
Although best known as the gas scheme registrar, CORGI has offered other products and services into the heating industry for many years. Gas installers have been able to obtain technical manuals, books, magazines, warning labels, tools and insurance as well as attend specific exhibitions and events from CORGI.



National Federation of Roofing Contractors

NFRC is the UK’s largest roofing trade association representing over 60% of the roofing industry by value. By using a NFRC registered contractor you have the comfort of guaranteed protection and quality.


National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC)

NICEIC is the UK electrical contracting industry’s independent voluntary body. They offer leading certification services, Building Regulations Schemes, products and support to electrical contractors and many other trades within the construction industry.



Institute for Plumbing and Heating Engineering

Founded in 1906, the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE) is the professional body for the UK plumbing and heating industry.  Membership is made up of individuals from a wide range of backgrounds such as consultants, specifiers, designers, public health engineers, lecturers, trainers, trainees and practitioners.





Association of Plumbing and Heating Contractors

Association of Plumbing and Heating Contractors is the leading trade Association for the Plumbing and Heating Industry in England and Wales. APHC provides valuable business services to its members in the plumbing and heating industry. Representing companies from the Times 100 on major construction projects, to sole traders working in domestic properties, it touches daily some 60,000 plumbing and heating operatives.



Heating and Ventilating Contractors' Assocation (HVCA)

The HVCA is a trade organisation assisting contractors with legal and trade matters.




Glass and Glazing Federation

The Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) is a trade association representing companies who make, supply or fit, glass and glass related products. This includes replacement windows, Energy Efficient Windows, doors, conservatories, hardware for these products, and all aspects of glass, including double glazed units, safety glazing, fire resistant glass, emergency glazing, decorative glass, secondary glazing, and solar control applied films and sealants.



Construction Industry Training Board (CITB)

The CITB are the Sector Skills Council and Industry Training Board for the construction industry, working to deliver a safe, professional and fully qualified UK construction workforce. They work with construction companies to help them improve skills to increase their competitive edge.
