Advice on posting an Ad

Here are some tips for posting an ad in our Classifieds section:

• Follow the DIYManager posting rules below
• Make sure the language you use is clear and concise
• Only post ads in English
• Provide as much information about the item as possible
• Provide the correct details for potential buyer to contact you
• Post in the ‘Stuff Wanted’ section if you are looking for items

Here are some tips when buying or selling items in our classifieds section:

Never send payment in advance of receiving the item and never send items in advance of payment. It is advised you meet face to face when exchanging payment for the item(s) the buyer is purchasing. For the buyer this will ensure the sale is legitimate and it gives you the opportunity to view the item(s) before handing over payment. For the seller you will receive payment for the item(s) upon delivery or pick up, there is no waiting for payment after you have shipped the item.

Watch out for scams, this may include:

• Sellers asking for a payment in return for the postage of the item. Chances are you will make the payment and never receive the item
• Payment or protection services from DIYManager, this is something we do not offer. Beware of links provided by sellers to other sites asking for payment
• A request for personal information from the seller with further instruction that DIYManager will be contacting them with the next steps in the purchasing process. We will never send out emails asking for personal information, we only ask for limited personal information when you register with us
• Requests for money transfers from the likes of Western Union or requests for proof that funds are available by sending funds to a friend or a family member. Once they have the tracking number they can collect the funds

Never provide personal information such as bank account details or identification such as passport or drivers license details

Posting Rules

When posting your ad upload it into the relevant category. If you are selling a bath tub you will receive fewer views if you post it to our kitchen category as opposed to correctly posting it in bathroom

Do not use any offensive or adult language or images

Post only 1 ad per item, and do not post across multiple categories.

Do not include links to other websites referring to further information on the item, make sure you provide all the information on the item in your ad.

No keyword spanning

You are not permitted to sell items that fall under the following classifications:

• Weapons of any description including firearms, knives, ammunition
• Stolen items, if we identify stolen items we will refer this to the authorities
• Counterfeit or replica items
• Drugs and drug paraphernalia
• Fireworks
• Alcohol, tobacco or tobacco products
• Endangered or protected animals or animal parts
• Adult only products or services
• Any items that are prohibited under UK law

We reserve the right to remove any ad without notice if we feel our terms and conditions have been breached
